Development Process
1 Database Structure.
A database is the foundation of every successful digitalised process. It's more than a collection of names. It's the engine room of your software. It connects all the working data, parameters and fields. Written correctly, a database enables your system to work fast and efficiently. A poorly created database slows the entire system. Correct database build, takes time. We begin by creating a Gant chart of deliverables.
2 Back-end Development
The foundations of a good database enables the creation of code that completes your required functions. We place your concepts, as code, into the correct fields within the database. This is the most important part of the process. During development we continue to complete a range of testing to ensure your processes will work in a number of environments, including different devices and screen sizes.
3 Front-end Development
This is the part of your process that all users will see. It's where our graphic designs and software developers work together to ensure the look and feel of your software is user friendly, confirms to branding guidelines and doesn't inhibit functionality. Design is also created to work across a range of devices and current browsers or servers.
4 Internal Testing QC
As with every stage of development, detailed testing is completed to ensure all elements are cohesive. Our internal team of graphic designers, developers and builders, test the system, meet and refine solutions, to ensure the database and all functions are working at their best.
Testing
1 Real working process.
This is the first time clients see the entire process in a real, working, staging environment. Both developers and clients sit together to test each section. Some clients bring in departmental staff to test their specific area before proceeding further. Software is also tested on a range of devices in different operating environments.
2 Development Refining
With complex digitalised processes, there are always elements that require refinement after initial testing. This can be a lengthy process if all experts are not within the same team. Our designers, builders and developers are all Your Development Team employees. They always are available and ready to work together. This cohesion dramatically reduces additional delays often experienced with third party consultants.
3 Consumer Testing
Key client decision makers involved in the development process usually believe they understand exactly how all users will operate the software. However, if you assemble a mix of end-users and ask them to complete the same process, our experience shows results will vary. Some users also identify unforeseen problems. These are resolved to maximise effectiveness of your software before launching.
4 Real World Evaluation
As your software will be used on a range of devices, in various environments, we conduct extensive testing on a range of popular devices and screen sizes. We also test on current versions (and back one version) of popular internet browsers.
5 Implementation
We set realistic timelines and procedures that manage the implementation of your software with minimal business interruption or delays. Back-ups prior to exports of data including inventory, clients and suppliers is completed. Staff are trained on a range of key issues, we complete "train the trainer" sessions and provide detailed training manuals.
